The Gathering Place exists to support women and their children who are experiencing homelessness or poverty by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency.

The Gathering Place is the only daytime drop-in center for women, their children, and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Denver.  Each month they serve an average of 2,200 different women and 450 different children.  They offer three nutritious meals - breakfast, lunch, and a hearty afternoon snack - every day and serve approximately 6,100 meals a month.  Each month, Betsy's Cupboard distributes an average of 385 food bags and over 300 individuals visit Bridget's Boutique for clothing.  When the Gathering Place was founded in 1986, women and children made up 10% of Denver's homeless population.  Now they represent more than 50% and are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.
