National Scrabble Day - YAY! GAMES!

One of my favorite things as a kid after a January evening meal of meat and potatoes was to bust out Scrabble with my family.

Not just to flex my prowess of spelling from my decade of life experience but also the delight of handling the crafted wood pieces and placing them on their miniature, church pew like holders.  What better combination of spelling and math skills could a kid ask for?

In looking back, my favorite thing was being together around the kitchen table as a family with the aroma of home-cooked food and woodsmoke and my people within arms length.
